You will:
- Own the design, deployment, and lifecycle management of Waabi's multi-site network (switching, routing, wireless, firewall) across all locations.
- Lead ISP/bandwidth planning, ensuring redundant, appropriately sized throughput for all sites.
- Manage network incident response and root-cause analysis; implement on-call coverage, escalation paths, and documented runbooks to minimize resolution time.
- Audit and harden network configurations (loop protection, storm control, STP, MC-LAG peer health) across all sites.
- Define and enforce network hardware/firmware standards, replacing current ad-hoc per-site configurations.
- Maintain IP addressing, VLAN architecture, and workstation/server/security/guest segmentation.
- Evaluate and manage zero-trust remote access tooling (Tailscale, Cloudflare, Zscaler, etc.) to meet security and monitoring requirements.
- Support vehicle connectivity in partnership with Product Infrastructure and Fleet teams.
- Partner with Engineering to ensure reliable, fast developer-facing network paths.
- Scale our network to support high performing on-prem compute, storage clusters.
- Create and maintain network documentation, topology diagrams, and disaster-recovery/escalation runbooks.
- Deep knowledge of OSI model
- Hands-on experience with enterprise switching, routing, and wireless platforms and lifecycle management.
- Experience operating firewalls, VPNs, and WAN optimization for multi-site organizations.
- Familiarity with mesh/overlay VPN and zero-trust tools.
- Experience with IPAM and VLAN design across multiple sites.
- Linux proficiency and IaC tooling experience (Ansible, Puppet, Chef, Terraform).
- Experience with network monitoring, observability, and building on-call/incident-response processes.
- Excellent communication skills, comfortable leading postmortems and documenting technical/non-technical findings.
- Collaborative, resourceful mindset with a willingness to own responsibilities across sites.
- Interest in self-driving technology and scaling infrastructure.
- Experience with in-vehicle/industrial/OT networking and field hardware support.
