ASSYST is seeking a Lead Information System Security Officer (ISSO) to support our upcoming project in Washington D.C.
The Lead ISSO serves as the single point of accountability for technical execution under the PWS, managing day-to-day ISSO support activities and ensuring consistent cybersecurity practices across supported systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the primary technical interface with Government ISSM, CISO, AO/AODR, System Owners, and other designated cybersecurity stakeholders.
- Direct and oversee Contractor ISSO activities, ensuring uniform execution across systems.
- Lead the development, review, quality control, and submission of authorization-package artifacts.
- Chair internal quality reviews of ISSO deliverables prior to Government submission.
- Manage the Contractor’s risk and issue register; escalate risks/issues to Government leadership as needed.
- Represent the Contractor in technical reviews and governance forums.
- Coordinate with the Program Manager on contract-level matters including invoicing, staffing, and reporting.
- Maintain hands-on cybersecurity expertise, ensuring technical leadership beyond administrative management.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in ISSO or cybersecurity leadership roles.
- Strong knowledge of federal cybersecurity frameworks, compliance, and risk management.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to balance technical execution with program-level coordination.
