Board Intelligence is a technology and advisory firm on a mission to make boards more effective, and through them, build better businesses and benefit society.
Over twenty years we have established ourselves as the market leader in governance and board effectiveness, trusted by more than 80,000 directors, executives, and governance professionals globally, including across the Fortune 500, FTSE 100, and OMX 30. That trust has been earned through depth of insight, rigorous advisory work, and a track record that newer entrants simply cannot replicate.
We have invested in applied AI since 2020, well ahead of the market, and that early conviction has paid off. Our AI-powered platform and smart board advisor give us a competitive advantage that is widening, not narrowing. In 2024, K1 Investment Management, the leading B2B Enterprise SaaS investor, backed us to accelerate that position further. We are now growing fast, with a proven commercial model spanning both mid-market and enterprise, and a product suite that has become a necessary addition in high-stakes board environments.
The people joining us now will shape how we scale. We are deliberate about how we do that. Our founders and leadership team are deeply invested in keeping the culture that got us here: thoughtful, high calibre, and genuinely human. Ambition and balance are not in competition at Board Intelligence.
If you want to work at the intersection of AI and governance, on problems that matter at the highest level, this is a strong place to be.
Our Mission We unleash the potential of organisations through the science of board effectiveness, building better businesses and benefitting society. The Role
Juristic is a Danish legal tech company, founded in 2021 and headquartered in Copenhagen. Our platform brings four tools together on the same case data: Structure, Timeline, Flow and JuristIQ, our legal AI in chat and tabular formats. Clients include PwC, Bird & Bird and Bech-Bruun. Juristic is now part of Board Intelligence, and we are bringing a new product to market. The work is led by our CTO, and we are looking for an AI Engineer to build it with them from the first line of code. This is a zero-to-one role in a small team of four full-stack developers, a machine learning engineer and the CTO. You will write the code, sit in front of customers, and help decide what we build next.Main Responsibilities
- Design, build and ship the AI capabilities at the core of a new product, from first prototype to production
- Own LLM-powered workflows end to end, such as document understanding, data extraction and agentic assistants
- Choose and integrate models and providers, and own the prompting, retrieval, evaluation and guardrails that make AI output reliable enough for legal and governance work
- Work directly with customers and the CTO to turn real problems into product decisions, and help own the product roadmap
- Lay the engineering foundations for the new product, including architecture, testing, observability and deployment, so it can scale
- Work with the wider Juristic and Board Intelligence engineering teams, and contribute to AI tooling shared across the suite
Person Specification
We are looking for a builder: an experienced AI engineer who has been a technical founder or an early employee at a startup, and who is ready to do it again. Required Skills and Experience:How We Work
We hire people who are expert at what they do. Once you join, you have the autonomy to shape how you work and the space to do it well. That doesn’t mean working in isolation. You’ll have colleagues who know their craft, regular collaboration across functions, and easy access to senior leadership when you need it.
We keep our structure flat. We work at pace in an agile, nimble environment where good ideas don’t wait for permission. If you spot something that could work better, we encourage you to say so. If you want to run with an idea, we’ll back you to do it.
We work with people who take pride in their output, back their team through the hard parts, and leave things better than they found them.
What Happens Next
Once you apply, our Talent team will review your application. If there’s a fit, they’ll be in touch to discuss the role and next steps.
How We Use AI in Our Hiring
We use AI responsibly, both in the software we build for governance teams and in how we hire. Our Talent team may use AI to support application review, CV analysis, or identifying areas that need further verification.
But hiring decisions are made by people. AI surfaces signals; people make the call on whether to progress a candidate or extend an offer.
